Birthday Parties

Oxbow is a fantastic place for a birthday party. Birthday parties take place on the Kids’ Farm, a large outdoor space where children can play, learn, and be inspired by their surroundings.

The Kids’ Farm contains a 1-acre educational farm, “Living Playground” of tunnels and structures, a small, covered greenhouse (the Kids’ Clubhouse), and ample outdoor picnic space.

Basic Package


Kids’ Farm party rentals are available May through October. Contact us for specific availability.


We offer several time slots. Two-hour parties can be scheduled:

Monday – Friday at 3:00 or Saturday and Sunday at 10:00, 12:30, or 3:00


May – September

$250 for up to 10 children, $8 for each additional child. Maximum capacity is 15 children. Cost includes one farmer-led activity (see below)


$275 for up to 10 children, $10 for each additional child. Maximum capacity is 15 children. Cost includes one farmer-led activity (see below) and access to all free Oxtober activities.

Add-on options

You are welcome to add a second guided activity for a small, additional charge of $5/child (see details below).

Farmer-led activity (included)

All birthday parties include a 30-45-minute guided activity with one of our trained educational farmers. Activities will vary according to the weather and time of season and may include:

  • A tasting tour of early season herbs and crops
  • A six-plant-part scavenger hunt around the Kids’ Farm
  • Meeting and learning about Oxbow’s composting worms
  • Games, stories, or songs

Add-on activity (additional $5/child)

We have plenty for kids to do at Oxbow! If one farmer-led activity is not enough, the farmer can help facilitate any of the following activities for an additional cost of $5/child (availability depends on the season):

  • Make and decorate a newspaper pot, sow a flower seed, and take it home
  • U-pick veggies or berries. Each child picks one pint/bunch to snack on or take home
  • Visit the pumpkin patch and bring home a sugar pie pumpkin



Once your reservation is confirmed, we will send you an invoice for your event. Full payment is due within ten days of receiving your invoice. We can payment by check or credit card over the phone. If there are any adjustments made on the day of the event to accommodate more guests, added activities or party waste, we will send you a modified invoice on the next business day. All balance payments are due within ten days of receiving a modified invoice.

Refunds and cancellations

In the unfortunate event you need to cancel your party, written notice of your cancellation must be received at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the scheduled party date.  You will receive a refund minus the $100 nonrefundable deposit. We will not issue any refunds for cancellations made within fourteen (14) days of the scheduled party date, and the full payment will be due.


Like all activities at Oxbow, birthday parties are held rain or shine. Our Kids’ Clubhouse provides indoor space with seating that is sheltered from the elements.


As an organization working in land stewardship, we have a low-waste policy and encourage reusable tableware and materials whenever possible and do not have capacity to handle large amounts of waste.

There are three options for taking care of waste disposal:

1. Pack all waste out yourself. No charge

2. Dispose of waste in Oxbow’s on-site recycling, compost, and garbage cans. $10 charge

3. Oxbow provides compostable tableware (plate, utensils, cup, and napkin for every guest) and dispose of waste on-site. $25 charge
