Oxbow awarded EPA grant

Oxbow is proud to announce that we have been awarded an EPA environmental education grant, which is allowing us to partner with a high-needs neighboring school to provide their kindergarteners with environmental education and outdoor learning experiences.

Over the course of their academic year, students will have multiple exposures to environmental education in the classroom, at Oxbow’s Kids’ Farm, and in school greenspaces that will be installed with assistance from the project. The program will focus on access to the outdoors and connections between farming, conservation, and nature by teaching critical thinking through hands-on investigation.

To amplify the project’s impact, Oxbow will develop a compendium of education materials to share with other environmental educators and stakeholders. Master’s students from the University of Idaho’s McCall Outdoor Science School will assist to develop curricula and best practices.
