Fall Farm Adventures

These guided farm adventures take kids through our fields on a scavenger hunt for the six plant parts—roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. When we find the plant parts, we learn their function, then harvest and eat them! Students even get to participate in a real farm project- collecting and sorting seeds! Students tour the Kids’ Farm in small groups with their own farmer educator and take home a sugar pie pumpkin.

  • Learn about plant structures and their function in making energy for themselves and the animals that eat them!
  • On a snacking tour through the farm fields, harvest tasty fruits and vegetables, including pulling your own carrot right from the organic soil!
  • Discover how new life emerges at the end of a plant’s lifecycle while collecting and sorting colorful and unique seeds, and even find a seed to taste!
