Ecological monitoring and stewardship

To monitor the ecological health of the Oxbow property, we have mapped our 230 acres and established 130 permanent monitoring plots. We periodically collect data at these plots on shrub and herb coverage, tree counts and tree health, canopy cover, woody debris, and invasive species. These data allow us to identify urgent needs, such as managing noxious weed invasions, and to plan and manage the land for long-term restoration and biodiversity conservation projects.
