Get Outside! Activities to inspire nature learning

Explore creatures from rollie pollies to wriggling worms with Oxbow’s fun outdoor activities for kids!

Oxbow’s education team has compiled some favorite nature exploration activities and projects to enjoy in the outdoors, from backyards to small garden beds, and beyond. Activities are hands-on and invite kids to experience the world around them while using their powers of scientific observation. Best of all, you don’t need a large classroom setting or a group of people to do them! Work at your own pace, get inspired, and get some fresh air.

Current activities include building a worm bin, backyard nature surveys, and more! The resources are a work in progress, so check back frequently; we’ll be adding new activities often over the next few weeks!

Farming Health and Safety
We know that safe, locally-grown food is critical now, more than ever. Agriculture is, of course, an essential service to our community and we continue to farm during this difficult time. Oxbow is dedicated to getting more local food into the community through our CSA program and expanded hunger relief efforts. We’re monitoring the situation closely and are strictly adhering to safety protocol to keep you and our farmers healthy.
