Spring Farm Adventures

Registration for Oxbow’s Spring, Summer, and Fall in-person programs is currently closed, but you can still read the descriptions and learn about our offerings during non-COVID times. Look for our popular Family Farm Adventures returning in Spring, 2021. We can’t wait to host classrooms of all sizes on the farm again in the future, and will update this space just as soon as we’re able to. In the meantime explore our current virtual programming here. Stay safe and healthy!

Oxbow’s Spring Farm Adventure field trips are designed to expose students to the magic of the early growing season. These hands-on adventures open kids’ eyes, ears, noses, and taste buds to the life, big and small, on our kid-friendly vegetable farm. Students even participate in a springtime farm activity: planting seeds! To get more information about our Spring Farm Adventures, you can access our at-a-glance program outline to plan ahead.

  • Meet the inhabitants of our worm bin and learn why they are a farmer’s best friend.
  • Sow seeds and venture through the living tunnel, looking for signs of spring.
  • Sample some early-season herbs and other crops.
  • Learn what seeds need to grow and plant a seed to take home.

TBD 2021

Large Groups: If your group is larger than 50, follow the step by step instructions on how to register HERE.

Chaperones: We do not charge adults to chaperone along with student groups. If chaperones would like to bring a younger sibling who will NOT be participating in programming (babes in arms or younger toddlers), they may come at no additional charge. If a younger sibling is able to participate in tasting, exploring, and planting a seed to take home, then we ask that they be included in the student head count with payment handled through your child’s teacher or field trip coordinator.

Registration closed

Scholarships: If field trip costs pose a hardship, please contact us at education@oxbow.org for scholarship information. Scholarships are based on schools’ free and reduced lunch rates.
