GiveBIG today to one of these great organizations

In case you haven’t heard the buzz on social media in the past few weeks, today is GiveBIG, the day when The Seattle Foundation will stretch each dollarof your donation to any of several hundred local nonprofit organizations. Last year, $14 million dollars were raised in 24 hours.

We at Oxbow salute The Seattle Foundation for the wonderful work they are doing to raise awareness for and financially support the work of our community’s nonprofit organizations.

As a nonprofit organization ourselves, we at Oxbow are cognizant of the importance of public support. If you are feeling generous today, we encourage you to donate to these (and other) admirable organizations:

Cascade Harvest Coalition: Cascade Harvest supports a number of programs more directly connecting producers and consumers. The Coalition produces the Puget Sound Farm Guide, maintains the Puget Sound Fresh mobile app, and connects new farmers to land with its FarmLink program.

PCC Farmland Trust: A conservation organization that acquires and preserves valuable farmland in Western Washington. PCC Farmland Trust works with landowners to purchase development rights and protect farmland with agricultural conservation easements.

Kruckeberg Botanic Garden Foundation: Kruckeberg is  a four-acre public garden in Shoreline showcasing native Northwest plants as well as a variety of exotics. The foundation also supports a rare and native plant nursery.

Hopelink: Hopelink offers programs for families to encourage independence and self-sufficiency. Hopelink operates food banks, offers adult education programs, emergency and financial assistance, and family development.

Tilth Producers of Washington: Tilth Producers promotes ecologically sound, economically viable and socially equitable farming practices that improve the health of our communities and natural environment.
