Fall Events Crew

 ABOUT THE POSITION

Oxbow is looking for 10-12 seasonal Fall events crew members with a positive, can-do attitude, who enjoy public-facing work, and share our passion for food, farming, and the environment. This person will support the Events & Public Engagement team in executing numerous events and public engagement opportunities throughout the Fall season. This position is a seasonal, part-time position starting in late August and ending in November. The position requires working weekends and evenings as needed.

Our upcoming events include:

  • Family Dinner On The Farm on 9/12
  • Oxtober, every Saturday & Sunday in October through 10/24
  • Various public engagement and private events August through November
  • Opportunities to support additional weekend public engagement programs August through September

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Pre-Event Support

  • Set up of tents, tables, chairs and other infrastructure
  • Signage and decor installation
  • Coordinating rental orders and drop offs
  • Picking up infrastructure and signage from storage unit
  • Clean up of site as needed

On-Site Event Execution

  • Manage various areas on-site, including check-in and membership & info booth
  • Support the outdoor kitchen with point-of-sale interactions and order fulfillment, as needed
  • Providing exceptional customer service at point of sale and across all events
  • Participating in Kid’s Farm Adventure programing, occasionally and as needed
  • Working with children and families in the arts & crafts tent and Kids’ Farm
  • Answering questions and directing public around the property
  • Helping maintain the property (monitoring trash levels, etc.)
  • Responding to on-site issues, problem solving and ensuring guest safety

Sales

  • Selling produce, native plants and pumpkins at the farm stand
  • Selling beer and wine and checking photo ID (must be 21 or older)
  • Managing, maintaining and selling at the hot beverages & snack stations around the farm

Event Load-Out

  • Break down of infrastructure and signage
  • Transporting event infrastructure and signage to storage unit
  • Organizing and maintaining signage inventory
  • Coordinating rental pick-ups

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Friendly and personable
  • Comfortable with sales and customer service
  • Math skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Good communication skills
  • First-aid certification a plus
  • Experience with and passion for working with children a plus

COMPENSATION
This is a seasonal, part-time position, paying $16 per hour.
