Join us at the Oxbow NPN to explore the edible and medicinal plants native to our region. We’ll cover how identify, grow, harvest, and utilize 10 local edible and/or medicinal plants. Participants will have the opportunity to sample edible plants from Oxbow’s NPN as well as receive a garden consultation at the Farm Stand following the event.
This workshop is intended for Adults age 18+.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Lea Dyga (they/them) is an ecologist, environmental educator, and community organizer originally from West Michigan. They hold a Bachelors of Environmental Plant Biology from Michigan State University. Since moving to Seattle in 2022, they’ve enjoyed making friends with the local flora and fungi through their AmeriCorps service at the Center for Urban Horticulture, by assisting the Seattle Lichen’s Guild, and by leading adult education classes with the UW Botanic Gardens. Lea joined Oxbow as the NPN Assistant Manager in March 2024.
