Native Plant Nursery Flood Recovery Volunteering
Help Restore Oxbow’s Native Plant Nursery
Clean, dig, and help restart safe plant production to support healthy ecosystems across the Cascadia region.
In December, record flooding submerged the Snoqualmie Valley, including Oxbow’s 5,000-square-foot Native Plant Nursery. Production of over 42,500 plants has been heavily impacted, with more than a third lost, and tools and materials potentially exposed to microbial, fungal, and inorganic contaminants. Now, as recovery begins, your help can restore this vital growing space to safe and thriving production.

Anytime between 9AM–12PM
Who:
Ages 18+
No limit to group size, there’s plenty of work to go around!
Tasks:
- Clean & sanitize flood-impacted pots, preparing them for our first round of transplanting
- Remove contaminated plants from our growing space, readying it for newly transplanted plants
- And more! As we continue to rebuild over the next week, we may find even more projects to tackle, so come prepared to dig, clean, and get your (gloved) hands dirty!
What to Bring
- Clothes and shoes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Snacks and water bottle
