Learning Opportunities for Aspiring Farmers

In years past, Snoqualmie Valley has been home to a local chapter of the Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training (CRAFT). CRAFT is a national program with independent regional chapters which operate as cooperative networks for enhancing the educational opportunities for farm interns and apprentices. In other words, CRAFT creates a platform upon which aspiring farmers ca garner as much diversified knowledge as possible throughout the season from experienced farmers.

After a several year lull in activity, CRAFT is being revived this season by the Oxbow Education Center. While we are currently still in the planning stages, we would like to take this opportunity to announce our first CRAFT event of the  year!

Any and all farmers, farm interns, and farm apprentices are welcome to join us on April 17th at 7:00pm in the Oxbow Farm barn for our welcome potluck and planning meeting!

In addition to getting acquainted with each other over some delicious dishes,  we will also be learning a but about the CRAFT mission and deciding how we want those goals to manifest over the course of this season. Other discussion points will include possible field day topics, locations, and dates. We would love for this to be a cooperative process in which all interested farm folks get to voice their input before we solidify any plans for the season.

Thank you, and happy Spring!
